"Elmore City-Pernell Schools, the town of Elmore City, and Oklahoma Department of Transportation are all currently working on similar but separately funded projects involving transportation, traffic flow, sidewalks, ADA compliance, activities, and safety. The concurrent timing of the projects is a result of various long-range planning strategies and goals. We greatly appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as you maneuver through the various project work zones. As you may recall, the resurfacing of the Elementary school parking lot (and associated drainage revisions) were part of the fall 2019 bond package. The new sidewalks are part of the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant awarded by ODOT to the City and School in March, 2019. A third (and again separate) ODOT safety project will begin soon, providing modern school-zone and crosswalk signage along our two state highways. And finally, thanks in part to a USDA grant, generous donations and volunteers, work on the middle school activity grounds is progressing wonderfully at the same time. Thank you again for your patience and caution driving through the various project work zones. Together, we are all working to make our community better and safer."
